Second Android Device Available in US

Update: July 8th, 2009

It is only a matter of time before we see the first Android Laptop from ASUS to hit the US; however the successor Gphone to the HTC G1 is about to be rolled out for Tmobile customers.  Tmobile announced that starting July 8 they will be accepting orders for their newest Android phone the MyTouch 3G.  Delivery of the first units however will not begin until August.  Also, Android 2.0 will not be loaded on the phone initially.

The HTC MyTouch is a version of the HTC Magic (or G2 depending on where you live) which has been available in throughout the world for a while now.  Vodaphone has been quite successful with this Gphone in Europe.

It is expected that the MyTouch will be based on the  Qualcomm® MSM7200A', 528 MHz processor.  No slide out keyboard on this phone, instead HTC continues with the virtual keyboard.  Device control is by a Trackball with Enter button.  Together with a 1340 mah battery and 3.2 Megapixel camera, the new Gphone should continue the popularity of the HTC line.

Pricing from Tmobile is expected to be under $200 with a two year commitment.  For more Android news Visit GphoneHandset.com
